That is one amazing, dynamic artwork. I haven’t been able yet to try fractal softwares like Apophysis or so but I’m interested to comment on the general artistic value on this. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/>

This work surely has a wonderful first impression, the position and angle of the main flower form relative to the showering ‘rain’ are perfectly giving a sense of movement in a static image. I can see the harmonious color arrangement in the unique combination of dominating purple, dark teal and light yellow color both on the flower and the rain drops, as if the flower and the rain are connected in some way – maybe the flower is energized by the rain? I like it how you limit the number of the raindrops and position them in a way so as not dominating the picture and still giving the sense of soothing water drops although at the same time perhaps exciting celebration of life.

And I love the massiveness, the dramatic sense of the flower depicted in gradual size change from very small & detailed to large also the gradual but very smooth color change from very light yellow to dark purple and teal. Plus the vertical central position giving it a majestic sense as the largeness of the outer petals are shown.

There’s not much originality in the play of focus, as it’s simply sharpening the flower’s center and as it’s moving to the larger petals it gets blurry but still, this highly contributes on the story, very pleasant to see the whole elements in unison.

There are that repeating bubbles on the flower’s petals that’s enhancing the sense of ‘rain’, making the whole picture even more soothing, as if once the golden rain falls on the petals it turns into these bubbles or water drops, absorbed by the flower. However, I think the pattern is still too obviously repeating, only copied from one to another and that makes it a little monotonous.

As I said I’m not a fractal artist but from this ‘non-expert’ point of view this work is highly eye-catching and very enjoyable to see, I think that’s still one good score for the artwork because I think in some cases art is supposed to be enjoyed by universally wide range of viewers. I’ve seen your gallery and all these fractal works are fascinatingly diverse in colors but each one is beautiful and unique in itself, very hard to choose the best. I personally picked this one because I think this is one with the ‘story’ most apparent – a flower that’s seemingly energized by rain – not just a picture of beautiful shapes and formations.

I don’t see another way to improve really unless you might want to put the bubbles on the petals in more sporadic way so it wont seem monotonous, because I think natural element like this is supposed to be ‘chaotic’. But overall I see the rest of the picture as amazing enough, keep up the awesome work.
