Apophysis 7x very slight hsb adjustments in photoshop.
Looong time since I last published something here! This one is probably one of the slowest flames to render that I have ever done... and it's also one of the toughest one to colour as usual, you can check some more colour versions here [link] . #Aposhack's cool people voted for the burgundy one, so here it is!
There's a lot of stunning visuals and work put into this deviation, with the dewdrops, lens flares and speed lines put into it along with the stunning crystalised texture of the flower, and the rainbow like colours blending in like peaches and cream, mac and cheese, bacon and nearly everything on the menu. Comparing this to ordinary, MS paint like fractals is like comparing Prometheus (The new and excellent sci-fi horror) to one of the worst sci fi's ever, Battlefield Earth, taking a new perspective, a new risk, a new camera angle and a new way to explore fractals. Excellente!
It's rare that you'll find me looking at fractals. I simply don't like them. They're too monotonous (clearly) and they aren't very appealing to me. But, something about the way you do your fractals just mesmerizes me. They look... real. Like they're actually real and you could reach out and touch them. The effects you have on them, with the blurring and motion really adds a nice touch. Not to mention the sheer glow and perfect color pallet you've created here. Words cannot even begin to describe the detail in this work. I could only wish that I could make something even remotely close to this. You do a marvelous job my friend, please.. keep it up.
With this individual piece itself, it's simply exquisite.. it looks as if I were to touch it.. it would just fall apart from being so fragile, but just lay together with such dexterity.. one cannot even fathom. The only fault I see in this piece are the floating particles above it. They look a bit faux and too rendered. If you had spent a tad more time on doing those and making them less bold against it.. it would have fallen together easier. But overall, magnificent piece.
If I might ask you a question: I notice on a lot of your blooms you have these beautiful dew drops. Do you make them in Apophysis (and if so, could you tell me how?) or do you add them in a different program? o.o They add a lovely touch and stuff...~
They're entirely made in Apophysis, I only use photoshop to improve colours Nothing complicated however: try making them with hemisphere + a little preblur (only in 3d flames, obviously) or with bubble + a little preblur in 2d flames as well hoping this helps !
