I tried to resist the magical quality of this piece and I can not. Simply adore the idea and the mood in this composition. The coloring is deriving from the night shades all brightened by the full moon....somewhere in Africa. And when the heat of the day is gone the gentle, majestic elephant comes to the river ... The coloring and texturing in this stunning image is pure perfection. The spiral used for the elephant shape, really works. The contrast of hues satisfies my eye as well (that includes the moon reflection in the water).
There is two things which I would improve myself: - the tusk of the elephant (i would still tweak the positioning, tilt it a bit more down and also tested how it would look as a more solid piece with a bit of texture on it and the glow set behind it , just like what has been done with the rest of the body) - the vertical waves on the left really distract me a bit, I like them, but maybe they should fall straight down from very top of the image and be more set in the perspective view (that would give the illusion of some sort of plants , or tangled tree branches growing near the water).
Overall - my hat is fully down for the vision and originality. Very soothing and peaceful indeed.
The lighting and coloring here are outstanding. I love the way that you've imparted a very sensuous, silken look to both the water and the sky! Captivating!
