As this is a critique and as much as I love this fractal, I do have a couple suggestions. The first is the highlighting of the gems is perhaps a bit too bright in a couple places. The background is wonderful; I am very fond of checkerboards and I like that you overlaid the larger green squares on the the blue and white. However, I think you could have aligned them with the framing to make them more centered. It is easy to overlook a small detail when working on something as complex as this.
Overall, this is an A+.
